Questions and answers
- How much does tree removal cost?
- Most U.S. jobs fall somewhere between a few hundred dollars and a few thousand. Size matters most. Height, tight access, nearby buildings and power lines all add to the price. A tree that has already fallen is often simpler than one that must be taken down in pieces. Always ask for a written quote first.
- What makes one quote higher than another?
- Providers look at the tree's height, trunk width and health. They also check how close it is to your house, fence or wires. Hauling the wood away, cutting it into pieces and stump work can change the total. Two quotes can differ simply because one lists these items and the other leaves them out.
- Can I remove a tree myself?
- Small saplings, maybe. Anything tall, leaning, or near your roof, stucco or wires is a different story. Trees under tension can twist and snap in ways that surprise people. Falling limbs cause many serious injuries each year. If you feel unsure, that is a good sign to let a trained provider look first.
- Does homeowners insurance cover a fallen tree?
- Some policies may cover sudden damage, such as a tree that lands on your home during a storm. Many do not cover removing a healthy tree or one that simply died. Check your policy and ask your insurer. Providers can often help document damage for a claim.
- What should I do if a tree falls on my house?
- Stay clear and keep everyone out of the area. Watch for downed lines and never touch them. Take photos from a safe distance. Then Request a callback to check provider availability for emergency tree removal. Many providers can respond quickly to storm tree clearance.
- What are early warning signs a tree is in trouble?
- Look up before it falls. Dead branches, deep cracks in the trunk, mushrooms at the base, bark peeling away and a new lean are all clues. Heavy snow, hail and dry, sunny conditions can stress trees here. Small sign, early call. Acting early often keeps the job smaller and the quote lower.
- Is stump grinding included in tree removal?
- Not always. Many quotes cover only the tree itself and leave a stump at ground level. Stump grinding is often priced as a separate line, usually by stump width. If you want the stump gone, ask the provider to list it clearly in the written quote so nothing surprises you later.
- What happens after I request an estimate?
- You share a few details about the tree and your location. Coachescomfort Tree Service then connects you with an independent provider in our network who may reach out to talk it through. They can give you a written quote. Quote first, then decide. You are never required to move forward.
